The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Program First
Runner Up is a self-disciplined, kind, caring and a dedicated student.
Raquell Stuart is an eleven-year-old Senior Prefect Leader at Queen’s
College – Primary in New Providence. This extremely gifted student
maintains an accumulative grade point average of 3.84.
Academically, Raquell is an exemplary student whose determination to
succeed is evident by her commitment to her work. She maintains excellent
study habits, a disciplined work ethic and excellent communication skills.
She is a member of the Bahamas Girl Guides Unit at Queen’s College. She
is also a Junior Member of the Bahamas Red Cross, Queen’s College
Dance Team and a member of the Children’s Ministry at her church,
Bahamas Faith Ministries.
As a Humanitarian, Raquell volunteers with the Great Commission
Ministries, International. She was one of the youngest volunteers for the
Project Limestone, a non-profit organization with the objective of providing
youth programs in an environment that encourages young people to
respect their peers, work together to define goals and set them on a path to
achieve their goals. She is also active in the Pine Field Improvement
Connection, which is a nonprofit volunteer organization made up of
descendants of the island of Acklins, Bahamas.
She has also a committed volunteer towards the Breast Cancer Initiative
and has raised $5,000.00 towards the purchase of 10 “ports” which is a
device that Cancer survivors need before they can receive chemotherapy.
She is an author of a book that will be released shortly entitled, “Protect
Your Cupcakes – Understanding & Fighting Breast Cancer.”
Sylvia Beneby, Vice-Principal, Queen’s College – Primary noted that
“Raquell is a member of the school’s student leadership team. She is an
exemplary leader and role model for her peers. She is an inspiring
philanthropist, who’s personal mission statement is to make this world a
“Better Place”.
Raquell is the daughter of Cassius and Dr. Sharmaine Stuart.
